Cookie policy

Which cookies we use — and what you can switch off.

We use as few cookies as possible and ask for consent before anything that isn't strictly necessary. No advertising tracking, no profiling. This is the full overview of what gets set on flaretech.dk and how you control it.

Introduction

This cookie policy explains what cookies are, which ones we use on flaretech.dk, what they're used for, and how you can manage them via our cookie banner. Cookies are closely tied to processing of personal data — you can read more about how we process personal data in general in our Privacy policy.

Our default is minimal: we only use necessary cookies by default, and we ask for consent before any anonymous analytics run. We use no advertising tracking, no profiling, and no retargeting pixels.

What are cookies?

A cookie is a small text file that a website can store in your browser. Cookies are typically used to remember choices you've made (e.g. language), keep you signed in, or measure how a site is used. Some cookies are set by the site you visit ("first-party"), others by third-party services embedded in the site ("third-party").

Similar technologies — for example localStorage, sessionStorage, and pixel trackers — aren't technically "cookies" but are typically regulated the same way. We don't use any of these beyond what's strictly necessary for the site to function.

Cookies we use on flaretech.dk

Strictly necessary cookies

These cookies are required for the site to work as expected. They cannot be disabled and don't require consent under the Danish cookie order.

NEXT_LOCALE
Remembers your language choice (DA/EN) so you're not redirected to the default language next time. First-party. Duration: 1 year. Set when you switch language via the toggle.
flaretech.cookie-consent
Remembers your cookie choice so you don't have to decide again on every visit. First-party (stored in your browser's localStorage, not a real cookie). Duration: until you delete it or update your choice.

Analytics (only if you say yes)

If you accept analytics in the cookie banner, we use anonymous analytics tools to understand which pages get used and how the site performs for real users (Core Web Vitals: LCP, INP, CLS). We choose tools that respect consent and don't share data with third parties for advertising.

Today we use Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights, which run cookielessly as part of our hosting platform (Vercel). We may add additional analytics tools (for example Google Analytics 4 in a configuration that respects Google Consent Mode v2) — any such tool only activates if you've granted consent to the "Analytics" category, and we'll update the list below when the scope changes.

Vercel Analytics
Aggregated page-view stats from our hosting platform. Cookieless, IP anonymised, no third-party sharing. Only active with consent to "Analytics".
Vercel Speed Insights
Real-user performance measurement (Core Web Vitals) to find slow pages. Cookieless, aggregated, no third-party sharing. Only active with consent to "Analytics".

Third-party cookies

We embed no third-party services that set cookies without consent — no YouTube, Vimeo, Twitter or LinkedIn embeds, no advertising networks, no heatmaps, no retargeting pixels. Our cookie banner and analytics toggle control all non-essential cookies and similar technologies.

Consent and the cookie banner

On your first visit to flaretech.dk we show a cookie banner at the bottom of the screen. You can accept all cookies, accept only the necessary ones, or open "Customise" and choose category by category. Until you've decided, all non-essential cookies are off by default — we don't pre-tick consent. This complies with the Danish cookie order (BEK no. 1148 of 09/12/2011) and GDPR.

Your choice is stored locally in your browser (localStorage) and is also used to set Google Consent Mode v2 signals — so any tools that may be active (today Vercel; potentially Google Analytics in the future) automatically respect your choice from the very first page view.

You can withdraw or change your consent at any time via the "Cookie preferences" link at the bottom of every page. If we expand with a new category (e.g. marketing or personalisation) or otherwise change the scope of what we store, we'll ask you to decide again.

How to manage cookies in your browser

You can always view, delete and block cookies via your browser's settings. If you delete NEXT_LOCALE you'll need to pick a language again on your next visit — everything else continues to work.

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies
  • Safari: Settings → Advanced → Privacy → Cookies and website data
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies and site data

You can also use your browser's "Do Not Track" / "Global Privacy Control" signal — we respect it, although in practice we have nothing to switch off.

Changes to this cookie policy

We update this page when we change anything related to cookies — e.g. if we add or remove an analytics service. The date at the top of the page shows when the policy was last revised.

Material changes that introduce new cookies or processing requiring consent will be announced visibly before they take effect.
