Shopify webshops — setup, themes and headless
We build and fix Shopify webshops for businesses that want commerce that just works. From a classic Online Store with a tailored theme to a headless Next.js storefront on top of Shopify — we pick the model that fits your business, not our preferences.

How we work with Shopify
Shopify is the right choice more often than you think — when it's set up right.
Shopify is the fastest route to a webshop that works: orders, inventory, payments and an admin panel your team can actually use. For most B2C businesses with a standard sales pattern it's the right choice — and we say so honestly, even when a more expensive custom build would mean more work for us.
Our Shopify work runs on two tracks. The classic one: an Online Store with a theme tailored to your brand, the right apps (and not twenty of them), payments and shipping configured correctly for your market, and technical SEO that doesn't sabotage your visibility. The headless one: Shopify as the commerce engine behind a Next.js storefront, for when design, performance or multi-language requirements demand more than a theme can deliver.
On either track we handle what usually gets forgotten: structured data so Google shows price and stock, mobile speed, GDPR-correct analytics, and a setup you can keep working in yourselves. A Shopify shop shouldn't make you dependent on us — it should be yours.
What we deliver
Theme, apps, payments and SEO — or headless when it's warranted.
From a classic Online Store to a Next.js storefront on Shopify's Storefront API — chosen to fit your business.
Setup and theme customisation
New shop set up from scratch or an existing shop cleaned up: a theme tailored to your brand (Online Store 2.0 with sections), navigation and collections structured around how customers actually search, and an admin setup your team can run day to day.
Apps chosen with care
We pick apps by need and performance budget — not by the app store front page. Every app costs speed and a monthly licence; we're happy to remove more than we add, and we build small custom solutions where an app would be overkill.
Payments, shipping and VAT done right
Local payment methods (MobilePay for Danish shops), card payments and invoicing for B2B where needed. Shipping rules against carriers like GLS, PostNord or Bring, and VAT configured correctly for Danish and EU sales. The boring parts — set up right the first time.
Headless storefront in Next.js
When the theme is too narrow: a Next.js frontend on Shopify's Storefront API. Full design control, edge-cached product pages and green Core Web Vitals — while orders, inventory and payments stay in Shopify Admin.
Migration to Shopify
From WooCommerce, Magento, Prestashop or a home-built solution. Products, customers, order history and — most importantly — SEO redirects so you don't lose rankings in the move.
SEO and performance on Shopify
Structured data for products, correct canonical handling of variants and collections, image optimisation and a clean-out of render-blocking app scripts. Shopify can rank just fine — as long as the setup isn't working against it.
Before you commit
What you should consider first.
Theme or headless — when to choose what?
A tailored theme is right for most shops: fastest to launch, cheapest to maintain, and marketing can work in it directly. Headless makes sense when the brand demands design a theme can't deliver, when you need rich content living alongside the shop, or when multiple markets and languages need tight control. We only recommend headless when the gain is concrete — it's a bigger investment in both build and operations.
Shopify's limits are real
Complex B2B pricing, deep ERP integrations and subscriptions with unusual rules can get expensive or impossible to force into Shopify. If you hit those, the answer is sometimes Shopify Plus — and sometimes a different architecture. See our custom e-commerce service if your needs live there; we'll help you settle it honestly in discovery.
App economics add up
Ten apps at a few dollars each sounds harmless, but it adds up to real monthly cost and slower pages. We review the app list critically: what can the theme do itself, what can a small custom block solve, and which apps actually pay for themselves.
You own the setup
Shop, domain, theme code and app accounts live in your Shopify account — not ours. Theme code is version-controlled in Git so changes can be traced and rolled back. If you switch agencies or bring the work in-house, you take everything with you.
FAQ
What people usually ask.
How fast can a Shopify shop go live?
A classic Online Store with a tailored theme, payments, shipping and a reasonable product catalogue typically launches in 3–6 weeks, depending on how ready your product data and content are. A headless build is a bigger project — typically 8–14 weeks, like our other custom web projects.
Can you take over an existing Shopify shop?
Yes, that's a common engagement: a shop that has grown crooked with too many apps, a slow theme or SEO problems. We start with a review of theme, apps, speed and search setup, then fix in priority order — you get the list, including anything you'd rather solve yourselves.
Should we pick Shopify or a custom webshop?
Standard B2C with physical products: almost always Shopify first. Complex pricing, B2B flows, deep integrations or a product that doesn't look like a classic webshop: then we look at headless or custom. That's exactly what a discovery conversation is for — and sometimes the answer is that you should stay where you are.
Do you help with migrations from WooCommerce or Magento?
Yes. We move products, customers and order history, set up redirects from every old URL, and verify that search traffic lands correctly after the move. The migration is planned so the shop has no downtime during the switch.
Can marketing work in the shop themselves afterwards?
That's the whole point of choosing Shopify. We build the theme with sections and blocks so landing pages, campaigns and product highlights can be created in admin without a developer. On headless builds we set up a CMS with the same goal: marketing shouldn't queue up with us to change a banner.

When does it make sense to hire a Next.js agency?
In-house, freelancer, or a Next.js agency — the choice isn’t about prestige. It’s about pace, ownership, and what happens when the product has to live in production for years.

What is Vercel — and when is it the right choice?
Vercel is the hosting and deploy platform behind Next.js. It's not the same as the framework — but for many teams it's the fastest path from repo to preview URL and edge caching without building the platform yourself.
